COMMISSIONING INFORMATION

The following or not routinely commissioned or only commissioned in certain circumstances
 

• Vaginoplasty

Non-reconstructive vaginoplasty or “vaginal rejuvenation” used to restore vaginal tone and appearance is not routinely commissioned
 

• Hymenorrhaphy

Hymenorrhaphy, or hymen reconstruction surgery, is a cosmetic procedure and is not routinely commissioned

 

• Labiaplasty

Surgery to alter appearance of labia for cosmetic purposesis not routinely commissioned
Please note this doesn’t include labial tears that are sustained during injury or childbirth
 

• Reversal of Female Sterilisation

       Reversal of female sterilisation is not routinely commissioned

 

• Elective Caesarean Section for Non-Clinical Reasons
  
  Elective caesarean section will only be commissioned where there has been a discussion between the clinician and the woman with informed consent gained that the benefits for that woman outweigh risks.
