Raised Vitamin B12
Do not measure B12 levels in those on parenteral replacement – it will be high
Causes
Oral self-administration of supra-physiological doses
Liver disease, renal failure, autoimmune disease (SLE, RA), inflammatory disorders and malignancy
It can be associated with myeloproliferative disorders but these can effectively be excluded if there is a normal Full Blood Count and Blood Film
