Care Home Support

 

The care home support dietitians provide nutritional training and support to care homes across Cornwall.

We offer training on screening for and managing malnutrition within care homes. Training sessions are delivered face to face or remotely via MS Teams. We provide training videos to care homes to enable ongoing training of all care home staff. As part of the training, we also provide a comprehensive resource pack which discusses managing malnutrition in care homes. 

 

We work alongside GP practices to encourage the appropriate prescription of oral nutritional supplements in care homes.

We also work with other healthcare professionals providing nutritional education on topics such as skin integrity, dementia, hydration, frailty, and Covid-19 in care homes.

If a care home resident needs referring to a Dietician, please ask the GP to make a referral via eRS.
