RCHT Urology Advice & Guidance
This guideline applies to children and adults.
Introduction
Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust (RCHT) offers a Urology Advice and Guidance service on e-RS. The service offers management options to consider prior to referral, with the aim of reducing the number of patients who need to be seen face-to-face. It also allows Urology consultants to consider the clinical information and advise regarding appropriate prioritisation and urgency of referral.
The Advice and Guidance referrals are reviewed every 48 hours thus providing a timely response.
If the patient is already under a Urology consultant, please include the details of which consultant in the request, in order that discussions can be had with the relevant consultant as required.
Exclusion criteria (not exhaustive)
- Patients meeting the Fast Track Suspected Urology Cancer Referral Criteria
Please note that the clinical responsibility remains with the GP until the patient is seen within secondary care.
