These RMS referral criteria also advise on dietetic referrals for suspected food allergy.

We mainly see children with food allergies, so these are given appropriate weight, but there are also some other indications for referral of a child with an allergic condition (see applicable sections below)

Within this guideline, referral indications (or non-indications) for common scenarios are highlighted in bold and italics

NB. Dietitians can refer directly to the allergy clinic via MAXIMS internal referrals after discussing any suitable patients with one of the Allergy Consultants.
