Hidradenitis Suppurativa
This guideline applies to adults aged 18 years and over.
Management Optimisation:

Address smoking and encourage weight loss if needed

Screen for cardiovascular risk: Bloods (lipids, Hba1c, TFTs), BP
- Follow general management principles and treatment pathway as per PCDS Hidradenitis Suppurativa management.

Referral
Referral criteria (routine or urgent depending on severity):

Severe disease or scarring at initial presentation (refer straight away whilst initiating treatment)

Patients where there has been an unsatisfactory response to long term oral antibiotics for consideration of biologic therapy (second-line options can be trialled whilst referring)
-
For surgery for localised disease
- Pregnancy
