RCHT Dermatology Advice & Guidance

 

The Advice & Guidance service is to be used to obtain a diagnosis or management advice from a Consultant Dermatologist.

Clinicians will be able to request consultant advice on Dermatology queries for potential referrals into secondary care.

The service is to offer advice on management and treatment options for clinicians to consider prior to referral with the aim of reducing the number of patients who need to be seen face to face.

Please include a high quality image(s) having taken and recorded consent to share the image(s) with secondary care.

 

Exclusions to this service include:

• 2WR referral criteria
• This service is not for lesions as often a face to face appointment with dermoscopy is required.

 

If the patient is already under a Dermatology Consultant, please include the details of which consultant in the request, in order that discussions can be had with the relevant consultant as required.

 

Clinical responsibility remains with the GP until the patient is seen within secondary care.
