Mental Health Matters (MHM)
Helpline providing emotional support, advice and guidance.
In Cornwall, the closest Mental Health Matters team is based in Plymouth. It is available to patients aged 16 years and over who are registered with a GP AND receiving support from one or more of the following teams:
- CMHT, including Complex Needs Team
- Learning Disability Team
- Assertive Outreach Team
- Community Forensic Team
- Older People’s Mental Health Teams
- Asylum Seeker and Refugee Mental Health team
- Community Recovery Team

From 22 July 2024, MHM is running a national helpline pilot for anyone aged 16 and over who lives in a rural area or farming community. For support, call 0300 034 9984 (available 24/7).

RE-GAIN

There are currently two projects available for patients with mental health problems living in Cornwall and IoS:
- Oakleigh House Sanctuary Project
- Provides short-term respite to adults in Cornwall and IoS who are working with CMHTs to help prevent a mental health crisis.
- Supportive Stays
- A Host Families project where patients on Home Treatment Team (HTT) caseload are able to stay with a host as an alternative to a hospital admission.

Free impartial support service providing information on local services for children and young people aged 0-19 years (up to 25yrs with SEND).
